COMM 3210 - Round Table discussion - Joseph, Matt, Jeff, Kelvin, Sandra
A. Framing (Louis CK separating thoughts into two categories, black and whites, role of athletes), Analogy (Cultural representations, ‘How to be Black’, ESPY), Slippery Slope, connotation (Curb Your Enthusiasm)
B. Three of our texts used the visual elements of people on stage addressing audiences, all reference popular people.
C. Rhetorical devices: Repetition (repeating ‘of course, but maybe,’ repeating ‘has to stop’, black lady keeps showing up, Beyonce)
D. Using humour to discuss racism; objectifying black culture; Playful/comedic tone & language (most of the ads); Logos & Pathos & Ethos

Systemic Racism - how racism manifests in society;
F. How racism portrays itself in society (Louis CK, Mini-Cooper, ESPYs); Racial undertones happen subconsciously/unintentionally; Filters our thoughts and gives us analytical perspective to use in our everyday life;
